Wear the Green Amendment Guardian Cuff to powerfully and elegantly demonstrate your commitment to protecting our Earth and the environmental rights of all people and all generations.

This carefully crafted wearable art piece was designed by Green Amendment Champions in collaboration with talented Pennsylvania-based  Artist Amy Ragsdale, to reflect the values and mission of the Green Amendments For The Generations movement. The cuff is made of socially and environmentally-responsible recycled metal secured here in the U.S., and it is hand engraved by local artisans being paid a fair and living wage.

The elements of the bracelet are carefully selected to represent the visionary goals of Green Amendments For The Generations and serves as a beautiful ode to our fight to ensure ALL people across our nation, and ALL generations across time, are able to enjoy clean and healthy water, air, soils and ecosystems; to have the essential benefits provided by a safe climate and healthy environments; and to enjoy the unrivaled and spectacular beauty of nature in all its glory.

The center Spiral represents nature, the protection of which is an essential focal point of our Green Amendment works. . Spirals are found throughout the natural world, seen on snails, sea shells, and unfurling ferns and in the power of nature through whirlpools, tornadoes and spinning galaxies.

The consecutive arrows represent how Green Amendments For The Generations protects people and nature across space and time. The large and small arrows, nestled within one another, are designed to be reminiscent of the hands in the Green Amendment logo, representing our commitment of generational protection, loving hands fighting to protect the environment and the children of today and tomorrow.

If you count the arrows, they add up to 13. This is a personal representation of the love Green Amendments Founder, Maya K. van Rossum, has for her mother. Maya’s mother, Marijke Wijsmuller, the youngest of thirteen children, was a mathematician who loved prime numbers.  For Maya, the number 13 is a reminder of her mother, and powerfully, while Marijke passed away before Maya conceived and founded the Green Amendment movement, the number 13 permeates throughout the movement.

The powerful legal victory that sparked Maya’s conception of a national movement for constitutional Green Amendment protections was against a law called Act 13, a decision issued out of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in the year 2013. While giving one of her first Green Amendment talks,  the power of number 13 in the founding of the movement jolted through her heart, body and mind.  Marijke’s deep love for the earth and her daughter are reflected throughout the Green Amendment movement.

Our Guardian Cuff is a symbol of strength –  of We The People standing together to protect nature in all of its beauty and glory so that all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, tribal affiliation, wealth, generation or geography are entitled to the powerful and healing benefits that healthy nature provides.  It is a demonstration of people nationwide standing together to give people in need, and nature itself, a voice demanding respect and protection.
